MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Shannon Davis joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. on Friday. As the Beach Babies Kidsale got underway Friday morning, Davis shared some tips on how to shop at a consignment event. She also shared advice for anyone planning to sell items. Watch the video for more details. Some of her tips follow:Tips for preparing for a sale?
- Go thru closets to make a list of items you will need for the next season. (Easter, 4th of July, Birthdays, Spring Break, Sports)
- Do you need to size up from single to double stroller, etc.? Go thru your gear. Do you need to size up your bikes? Roller skates? Helmets? Etc.
- Do you need athletic gear, dance, tumble?
- Make sure you know your children’s size. Bring an item from home that helps you size at the sale unless you bring your child.
- Prioritize your list so that you have a plan. The sale is so big it can overwhelm moms.
- Bring a roller bag, hamper, etc. They do offer very large bags to carry your items.
Tips for a success at a sale?
- Make sure your items are clean, wrinkle free, and you follow the allowed brands.
- Zip-tie shoes, safety pin items together or double hanger outfits.
- Use a tag gun. (You can find them on Amazon or eBay!)
- Try to discount for 50%-off day.
