EVANS, Ga. – “Fun, outgoing, funny, fun to be around.”
That’s how Jayson Wheatley describes his sister Calah, for whom his family has been searching for four long days.
“It’s hard. I send messages and she doesn’t respond,” said Wheatley. “You don’t know if it’s bad or good. Obviously it’s not good with the guy she’s around. (18:05) He preyed on her. The last message he sent he said he would kill her.”
Jayson and his family say they’d never heard of suspect Jason Johnson before this happened. They’ve spent the last four days learning everything they can. Jayson says his phone goes off nearly nonstop.
“Different relationships he’s had. One lady said he molested her daughter but there wasn’t enough evidence,” Wheatley said. “Three to four more posts on Facebook saying he did it to their daughters as well.”
Jayson and his family are holding out hope that Calah’s story has a much happier ending, and he has a simple message for whoever Calah is with.
“You have a sister as well as I do. Drop her off at a gas station or another public place. I’ll pick her up,” Wheatley said. “You don’t have to call me directly. Call someone else. She belongs with us. Not with you. So please just let her come home.”
Wheatley is personally putting up a $500 reward for Calah’s safe return. If you know anything about her whereabouts or see Calah or Jason Johnson contact your local law enforcement.
