DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Deputies in Darlington County arrested two men after an investigation into stolen vehicles.
According to the sheriff’s office, Matthew Glen Tyndall, 26, and Joshua Charlton Holladay, 26, were in possession of several stolen vehicle and were trying to change their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) so they would not appear stolen.
Investigators say Tyndall and Holladay tried to sell a stolen 1996 Toyota Camry to a metal recycling company in the area for $187.20.
Tyndall is charged with grand larceny, operation of a chop shop, and three counts of receiving stolen goods. Tyndall is still behind bars at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on a $95,000 bond for charges related to the incident. He received a $40,000 bond for probation violation.
The sheriff had a message for Tyndall in a released statement.
“My Investigators continuously arrest Tyndall for theft related crimes, but he refuses to quit,” stated Sheriff Tony Chavis. “Matt, until you quit or go to prison, there will always be a place for you at my jail.”
Holladay is charged with receiving stolen goods. He was released on a personal recognizance bond.
