FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Delta Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated gathered at the Cumberland United Methodist Church in Florence Sunday evening with family and friends of young men.
High School students dressed in tuxes and gave speeches to help them get ready for college.
Students were taught public speaking, interviewing, dressing well and dining etiquette.
One Wilson High School junior says what he has learned will help his career and college goals.
“I have become a better leader. I will be better independently and going off to college. I know that I’m better prepared now with thanks to the Alphas,” mentioned Larryon George.
West Florence High School Senior Titus Ellerbe also participated in the program. He is a member of the National Beta Club, National Honor Society and Band.
Ellerbe says he plans to attend an a 4 year institution of higher learning and study in the field of Engineering.
Larryon George is a member of the varsity football team and weight lifting team.
