After teen sex charge, ex-Myrtle Manor star accepts plea for assault

One former “Myrtle Manor” cast member went before a judge Tuesday.

According to Martin Spratlin, with the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s office Taylor Burt plead guilty to 1st degree assault and battery.

A judge sentenced Burt, who works as a DJ, to 3 years probation.

Burt should not have any contact with the then 15-year-old victim, who Burt’s attorney has called simply an “obsessed fan.”

Back in April of 2013, the “Myrtle Manor” star was originally charged with criminal sex conduct with a minor under the age of 16.

A police report obtained by WBTW in 2013 offered some details from the victim as to what happened.

The teen girl said she asked her mom to drop her off at the Sound Hole concert venue around 6:30 p.m on Saturday, April 27 2013.

Once there, she claimed she messaged Burt about wanting to “hang out.”

She says Burt came to that location, picked her up, and took her to his apartment nearby.

She claims the pair had sex and Burt told her to not tell anyone because he could get into trouble.  The report said Burt told her it was “their little secret and they would do it again soon.”

When the victim’s mother picked her up, she said the teen was not acting right and asked her what was wrong.

The victim told her mom what happened and from there they went to the police department to file a report.

Back in Oct. 2013 Burt said he couldn’t comment to News13 about the pending case, but his attorney Jonny McCoy says the alleged victim in the case was an “obsessed fan.”

“There’s been repeated pieces of evidence that have come to light showing that this was an infatuation that went too far for the young lady,” McCoy said.
