NICHOLS, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a two vehicle accident on Highway 9 that left two people critically injured.
In a tweet, Horry County Fire Rescue says the two critically injured people were transported to the hospital by air, three people who were non-critically injured were transported by ground. There was also no one trapped in the accident.
Horry County Fire Rescue also says four engines, four medics, one rescue, and two helicopters responded to the scene, including one from Columbus County.

Horry County Fire Rescue originally tweeted the accident was at Highway 9 and Pinckney Road, with entrapment.

As of 1:30 p.m. August 6, first responders were still on scene handling the crash, and had called for another helicopter to respond from Columbus County. The accident reportedly has “multiple victims”.
