The man accused of firing shots inside Florence’s Magnolia Mall last month made his first court appearance Friday — the same day 911 calls were released from the wild night.
Dalyn Witherspoon, age 18, of Darlington is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, after a man was shot in the mall on Fri, Feb. 13.
A judge set Witherspoon’s bond Friday at $100,000 on the weapons charge… but denied him bond on the attempted murder charge. (Click for related story)
So that means he’ll stay in jail at least until his next court appearance, which is April 29.
News13 obtained the 911 calls that came in on the night of the shooting.
Many of the calls are from people who sound terrified of the shooting. One woman with her young daughter is locked inside the Justice store — and the pair were hiding behind the cash register.
Other calls include screams and panic — as people were running through the mall to escape.
Below is the text of one of the many calls dispatch received that evening.
