5 suspects in custody after homicide in Georgetown

Five people are in custody in connection with the death of 29-year-old Joshua Powell in Georgetown. 

A post on the Georgetown Police Department’s Facebook page says Douglas Jawah Singleton, Timothy Allen Lawrence Sr., Rodriquis J. Mathews, Jaquell Jeremiah Jamar Archie, and Roger Tremayne Barr are in custody as of 8:30 a.m. Singleton was arrested and detained at the Georgetown County Detention Center. Lawrence was taken into custody in Charleston county. Mathews and Archie surrendered to law enforcement. 

According to Georgetown County Detention Center booking records, Singleton was booked around 7:30 a.m. on Monday. He is charged with murder, armed robbery/robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, accessory after the fact to a felony or murder. 

Booking records show Lawrence was booked around 9:40 p.m. on Monday. He is charged with murder and armed robbery/robbery while armed with a deadly weapon. 

Archie was booked around 8:40 p.m. on Monday, according to booking records. He is charged with murder and armed robbery/robbery while armed with a deadly weapon. 

Barr was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center on Tuesday morning, according to booking records. He is charged with murder and armed robbery/robbery while armed with a deadly weapon. He remains in custody as of Tuesday evening.
