LONGS, S.C. (WBTW) – Five people were transported to Grand Strand Medical Center after a two car crash in Longs Sunday night.

According to Brian VanAernem, around 10:45 Sunday night, Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a crash Highway 905 at the intersection of Freemont Road in Longs.  Crews arrived on scene to find the ambulance on its side and a second vehicle in the ditch, VanAernem said.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the ambulance driver ran a stop sign on Freemont Road and hit the car that was traveling on Highway 905.

Troopers cited the ambulance driver with disregarding a stop sign.
