LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW)- The Lumberton Police Department arrested four men and charged them with common law robbery and conspiracy after a bank robbery Saturday morning.
Captain Terry Parker says Steven Tyler Hutsell, 19, of Hope Mills NC, Kareem White,19, of Fayetteville NC, Eric Cardoza, 23, of Fayetteville NC and David Stewart, 27, of Hope Mills, NC were taken into custody without incident.
They have each been charged with common law robbery and conspiracy. Police say they each received a $10,000 bond.
Stewart got an additional $119,000 secured bond for out standing warrants from other agencies. Those charges are unknown at this time.
Police say around 9:15 Saturday morning Cardoza entered Carter Bank and Trust located at 4601 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton. Police say he presented a note demanding money and then fled the scene in a vehicle after taking an undisclosed amount of money.
Police stopped the vehicle a short time later on I-95 near the 27 mile marker.
No one at the bank was injured. The North Carolina Highway Patrol assisted with the vehicle stop and the FBI is assisting with the investigation.
