3rd suspect in deadly Darlington County shooting turns himself in

DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW) – Darlington County Deputies say a man wanted in a murder case turned himself in.

According to Darlington County Sheriff Wayne Byrd, deputies were first notified of the shooting on Santee River Drive in Florence around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Sheriff Byrd says the victim went to McLeod Regional Medical Center where he died from injuries related to the shooting. According to Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee, the victim is 24-year-old Dominique Ray Von Cooper. Hardee confirms Cooper’s death is ruled a homicide.

Three suspects have been arrested in the case, confirms Sheriff Byrd.

Halique Davenport, 22, of Darlington, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy. Kahseem Saybon Davenport, 31, of Darlington has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy.

22-year-old Laquawn Tiyon Hicks of Florence turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday, July 15.

Hicks is charged with murder, and is at the Darlington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
