A sea of green filled Main Street in North Myrtle Beach as tens of thousands of people celebrated St. Patrick’s Day.
The City of North Myrtle Beach held its 30th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival on Saturday. The celebration included three stages of live music, more than 100 vendors and fun rides and activities for children.
The festival drew approximately 30,000 people to the heart of North Myrtle Beach, including Audrey Rigsbee, who drove down from Albemarle, North Carolina for the event. Not only was it her first time attending the St. Patrick’s Day parade, but she also had another reason to celebrate the day. “It’s my birthday! I have always wanted to come and it took me 77 years to get here but I finally got here! We just love it and hope to come back every year, from now on out, for as long as I live,” she said.
