30+ SC college football players suspended for spending “book money” on other school supplies

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – More than 30 Charleston Southern football players have been suspended for Saturday’s game against No. 3 Florida State.

According to several players, the athletes will miss the game because they committed a minor NCAA infraction by using book money to buy other items in the on-campus book store.

Saturday’s game against the Seminoles meant a little more to Buccaneers’ running back Ben Robinson, who is from Tallahassee.

Robinson took to Facebook to voice his displeasure over the situation.

Charleston Southern head football coach Jamey Chadwell has already been suspended for the Bucs’ game against Albany State (October 8) for a level III social media violation. Other in-state coaches at Clemson and South Carolina were reprimanded this summer for committing the same violation, but not suspended.
