CHARLOTTE, N,C. (AP) – Three men are facing charges after two vehicles and a hotel lobby get sprayed by gunfire in downtown Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say about 40 to 50 shots were fired into an SUV, a van and the lobby door of the Hyatt Hotel before dawn Sunday. Multiple media organizations reported no one was hurt and investigators don’t think it was random gunfire. WBTV-TV reported the shots came from an AK-47 rifle.

Nearby security guards say they heard the shots, saw a Nissan Altima fleeing the scene and recorded the license number.

Police stopped the car and a backseat passenger jumped out and ran into a parking deck before being arrested. Two more weapons were found in the vehicle.

All three men were charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and discharging a firearm in city limits.
