FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 19-year-old man for murder following the discovery of a body in late January in Effingham.
Investigators arrested Cleveland Darquan Santez Wiggins, 19, of Florence, Saturday and charged him with the murder of Deangelo Damone Reid. According to Investigators, Wiggins is alleged to have shot Reid several times on January 22. Reid’s body was discovered four days later at 153 Starlight Lane, in Effingham.
At the time of his arrest, Wiggins was found with a gun, so he is also facing one charge of unlawful carrying of a pistol. Wiggins is being held at the Florence County Detention Center and will appear before a Circuit Court Judge for a bond hearing, but that date has not yet been set.
Two more men have also been charged in connection with Reid’s death, according to Major Mike Nunn. Jasper Jerell Epps, 18, of Florence, is charged with murder and accessory after the fact of a felony. Daniel Tyler Lane, 18, of Florence is also charged with murder. Epps and Lane were arrested Wednesday.
The investigation into Reid’s homicide is ongoing and additional charges are possible, according to Major Michael Nunn. State Law Enforcement Division is assisting in the investigation.
