PICKENS, SC  – Three people are dead and three teenagers are seriously hurt after a head on crash in northern Pickens County, Sunday afternoon.

Megan Mullinax, 25, Kandice Broome, 14, and Furman Broome, 9, died from blunt force trauma after the collision. The victims were related and lived in the same Greenville home, the coroner says.

Mullinax was driving a 1999 Honda Civic with her two passengers when they collided with a 2011 Honda Pilot.  A 16-year-old girl, driving the Honda Pilot, and her two 13-year-old passengers were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened on Highway 11 around 2pm Sunday near West Gate Road, close to the entrance to Table Rock State Park. Highway Patrol says the Honda Pilot SUV crossed the center line of Highway 11 and struck the Civic head on.

All people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts. The crash is under investigation by Highway Patrol.
