GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) – Three people were arrested Tuesday in Georgetown County after reportedly being involved in a drug deal.

According to Public Information Officer Carrie Cuthbertson with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, officers arrested three individuals who were engaged in a street level Heroin transaction. Agents, working along with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgetown Police Department to address sales of Heroin in Georgetown County, observed the trio engaged in a drug trade on Highmarket Street in Georgetown.

Officers arrested 49-year-old Clarence Joseph Thomas of Andrews, Adrian Akeem Cooper, 26, of Georgetown, and 42-year-old Jodi Michelle Lambert, of Andrews.Cooper is charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin as well as possession with the intent to distribute heroin within ½ mile of a school or park. Both Thomas and Lambert were charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and providing false Information to police.

Agents recovered five bags of heroin from Cooper. All three suspects are being held in the Georgetown County Detention Center pending bond hearings.
