CHARLESTON, SC – Whitney Jordan’s highs school jersey hung high inside The Alley as hundreds came to her place of work to pay tribute to the 24-year-old killed in a hit-and-run.

Tuesday night, The Alley held a celebration of life for the woman that worked her way from dishwasher to head chef of the popular bowling alley bar. “At 24 years old the world was her oyster, there was so much that Whitney was going to accomplish,” said David Crowley, co-owner of The Alley.

Sara Jordan takes the loss of her younger sister day by day. “It’s been a rough week,” said Jordan, “the amount of love we have received from family, friends and the food and beverage community – she made an impact.”

Details are limited Whitney Jordan’s death. Reports say the 24-year-old was struck by a car on Blake Street on July 28th after she got home from work. Jordan was taken to MUSC, where she died. Charleston Police do not have a suspect vehicle or a driver at this time.

Friends and family grieve while law enforcement looks for a break in the case. For Sara Jordan, she just wants closure for her younger sister. “We’re not looking for vengeance,” said Sara Jordan, “we’re just looking to lay her down peacefully with some answers – she deserves that.”
