FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – A 22-year-old man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Florence early Sunday morning.
Authorities are still looking for the driver, who would have damage to their vehicle and might have headed toward Timmonsville.
Tyshon Johnson, 22, of Timmonsville, was walking when he was struck by a car in the 2800 block of West Palmetto Street. He died at the scene, according to Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutchen.
According to Cpl. Matt Southern, the vehicle is unknown, but it could possibly be a silver vehicle with damage to the front passenger side and the passenger side mirror cover missing. It might have headed toward Timmonsville.
South Carolina Highway Patrol’s MAIT Team is investigating the crash.
