MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Myrtle Beach Rotary Club selected their 2014 Myrtle Beach Police Officer of the Year award Monday.
PFC Chris Smith was chosen as the 2014 Officer Joe McGarry Memorial Police Officer of the Year.
PFC Smith is a 7-year veteran of the department and is the handler of one of the canine units, Alli.
Along with PFC Chris Smith, the following officers were nominated for this award: Sgt. Lester Cook, MCpl Tiffany Whitmire, PFC Chris Tyndall, PFC Shon McCluskey, MCpl Jeremiah Beam and PFC Steve Thackray.
