Two wrecks have been reported within minutes of each other Wednesday afternoon along the US 17 Bypass near Glenns Bay/Holmestown Road.
A crash with injuries happened on US 17 Bypass at Holmestown Road just before 3 pm Wednesday, the SC Highway Patrol said.
At about 3:15 pm, another crash — also with injuries — happened in the same area just south of the troublesome Holmestown Road intersection, according to the SCHP.
Authorities reported that a lane of Northbound US 17 Bypass was closed. Traffic heading northbound appears to be backed up a mile before the Holmestown intersection.
However, traffic is nearly standstill heading in both directions around the area.
An SC DOT traffic camera is in the area, but is not functioning. The camera rarely appears to be functioning.
