Two people were shot in the face in broad daylight Monday at at a small shopping area just blocks from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate — and the shooter remains on the run.
The shooting happened on in Biltmore Village along Sweeten Creek Road in front of a Chico’s clothing store around 2:30 p.m, just 3 blocks from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate.

After the shooting on Monday, investigators say the car with the two young men who were shot moved forward about 200 feet. The car had its windows shot out and eventually stopped in the parking lot of Rezaz’s, a restaurant in the area, WLOS-TV reported.
The two victims were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
WLOS-TV, who talked to police, identified the injured men as Denzel McKnight, age 21, and Jerry McSwain, Jr, age 20.

A suspect, who remains on the run, is described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a bandanna and driving a burgundy Nissan Altima with chrome rims and tinted windows.
