Three people, including 2 teens, are facing charges after a deadly shooting Monday afternoon on Wilkie Bridge Road in Chesnee.
At first, deputies were called to the scene at the Chesnee home after a reported suicide. But authorities later determined that the death was not suicide.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office charged David Ronald Boggs III, Doris Marie Angus and Emmanuel Roy Griffin in the death of Eddie J. Richards, age 33.
Boggs III, 18, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime after the shooting around 3:30 p.m. Monday. Spartanburg County investigators say Boggs admitted to the crime.
WYFF-TV obtained a copy of the arrest warrant, which indicated Boggs shot Richards, the TV station reported.
18-year-old Doris Angus is Boggs’ girlfriend, according to deputies. She is charged as accessory after the fact.
Griffin, age 32, is also charged with accessory after the fact. Investigators say Griffin is the stepfather of Boggs and a cousin of the victim in the shooting, Eddie Richards.
Boggs III, Angus and Griffin all live in the same home in the 1500 block of Wilkie Bridge Road, according to Spartanburg County Detention Center data.
Boggs III is being held without bond while Angus is being held on $25,000 bond. Griffin appears to have been released on his own recognizance.
The motive is being investigated.
