MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Crews responded to a fire on Ocean Boulevard Wednesday morning, while Myrtle Beach Police officers were able to stop two people seen on video leaving the scene.
Deputy Fire Chief Tom Gwyer said it happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the building shared by Wacky T’s and Nightmare Haunted House.
According to a police report released Wednesday morning, officers checked surveillance video from near the building and saw two people running away from the scene and getting into a silver four-door car. The video shows them drive north on Ocean Boulevard.
An officer found the vehicle a short time later and stopped it, and inside the car found the two people the video showed.
Gwyer said one firefighter went to the hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
There’s no word on how the fire started.
