WILSON, N.C. – Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a marijuana distribution operation being conducted out of a Wilson nail salon, police said.
Police arrested Thu Trung Huynh, an employee of Elite Nails and Spa, and Phillip Pham on charges including trafficking in marijuana and sell and deliver marijuana. Both Huynh and Pham live in Wilson.
Authorities were investigating the nail salon, and specifically Huynh, for approximately two months.
On July 13, members of the Wilson Police Department, Tar River Task Force and the DEA searched the homes of Huynh and Pham on Edinburgh Drive and Wyck Place.
During the search, authorities seized approximately 24 pounds of marijuana, more than $45,000 in U.S. currency, one gun, two vehicles, and associated paraphernalia.
Huynh was charged with three counts of sell marijuana, one count of trafficking marijuana, and three counts of possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana. Huynh was given a $75,000 secured bond.
Pham was charged with trafficking marijuana and given a $15,000 secured bond.
