2 nabbed in shooting at Horry County house, bag of money found

Two men were charged Wednesday after a man was shot in broad daylight on Tuesday in front at a mobile home in Horry County, authorities say.

The shooting happened around 12:30 pm at a home in the 1600 block of Racepath Street — just off Grissom Parkway — in Horry County, said Sgt. Dorio of the Horry County Police.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, was shot in the abdomen and was rushed to Grand Strand Medical Center, Dorio said.

A bag full of money was found by police in the victim’s car, which was initially used to take the victim to the hospital, police said in a report.

Horry County Police Lt. Raul Denis said two men turned themselves in to police Wednesday morning.

Attempted murder charges were filed against Lavandar “Lavanderick” Dieon Wilson, age 20, and Terrance Anthony Herriott, age 23.

The shooting happened as the victim was outside the house and a gold color Ford Crown Victoria pulled up, witnesses told police. The victim then approached the car and at least one shot was fired, police said in a report.

It’s unclear who the money in the victim’s car belonged to or if police seized the money.

Grand Strand Medical Center was put on lockdown for a while after the shooting, but not because of the police, officials said.

Myrtle Beach Police also responded to the shooting.
