Two Myrtle Beach women have been indicted in connection with a sword attack during an argument about a man.
The Sun News reports that 21-year-old Laqueta E. Harrell was indicted on charges of attempted murder and first-degree burglary, according to filings released Monday. 26-year-old Hakina T. Alston was indicted on charges that she was an accessory before the fact – and after the fact – to a felony.
Police say the women were arrested after a March 30 incident where a 31-year-old woman was attacked and stabbed at her Myrtle Beach apartment.
Authorities say Alston drove Harrell to the victim’s apartment, after which Harrell stabbed the victim, who had grabbed a sword to protest herself. Jail records to not indicate if either of the accused has hired an attorney.
