Two Myrtle Beach businesses were vandalized on Sunday.

A police report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department says the Sail and Ski Connection store, located at 515 Hwy. 501, was vandalized around 4 p.m. Another police report says the Good Day Cafe restaurant, located at 819 Main Street, was vandalized around 6:30 p.m.

According to the report for the incident at Good Day Cafe, a man and his wife were inside the restaurant cleaning up and restocking a drink cooler when they heard a loud shattering sound coming from the front of the cafe. Neither saw anyone around the window at the time of the incident. Officers estimate the damage to the window to be about $1,000 dollars.

A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page says “we are wounded but not defeated. We will have new glass in a few days and we will remain open during this time.”

The report for the incident at Sail and Ski Connection says a man was working in the store when he heard a loud shattering noise. When the victim went to the front of the store, he noticed five of the business’ windows had been shattered.

This report also says the victim told police he thought “someone possibly drove by with some kind of pellet gun and shot the windows out.” The responding officer says no evidence could be found to prove the involvement of a pellet or BB gun in the vandalism.

No estimates for damages at the store have been released.

Captain Joey Crosby says the department has no evidence that would link these two cases of vandalism, but that officers will not rule out the possibility of the two being connected until all investigations are closed.
