DARLINGTON COUNTY (WBTW) – Darlington County deputies say two people died in a crash Tuesday night, and the identity of those victims has now been released.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the wreck happened around 7:20 p.m. at the the intersection of US Highway 15 and Swift Creek Road.

Troopers say a Mercury Milan was traveling east on Swift Creek Road when the driver ignored the stop sign, and was hit by a tractor trailer driving south on Highway 15.

Both Mercury occupants were killed. The coroner identifies the victims as Romar Barlow, 27, and Emily Jackson, 22, both of Hartsville.

The truck driver was taken to a local hospital to be checked out.

No charges are expected. The Darlington County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT Team investigate the crash.
