Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with several burglaries in the Surfside Beach area.
Captain Arron Miller, with the Surfside Beach Police Department, says in a press release 30-year-old Bobbie Rae Butler, of Garden City, was arrested on August 8 and 26-year-old Ronald Sidney Dunham III, of Garden City, was arrested on Tuesday.
Butler is charged with second degree burglary, grand larceny over $10,000, two counts of grand larceny over $2,000 and under $10,000, and criminal conspiracy, according to the release. Dunham is charged with second degree burglary, grand larceny over $10,0000, and criminal conspiracy.
According to the release, officers responded to three burglary calls between July 27 and August 7 that were “similar in nature and in close proximity.” Two suspects were identified by investigators and warrants were issued for their arrests.
Officers recovered some of the victim’s property, the release also says.
