OLD FORT, NC – Two people have been charged after deputies say they broke into a home in McDowell County to steal a home security system.
Calvin Dwight Basham, 67, and Crystal Leigh Wilson, 37, broke into a home on Mudcut Road on May 20 according to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office.
The security system – worth $500 – was taken from the home. Deputies say Wilson tried to have the iSmart alarm reset. That’s when deputies say the company realized it was the same system that had been stolen.
Basham and Wilson are both charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods by the sheriff’s office.
