GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – Officers with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two people after a five month investigation into heroin distribution in the city of Georgetown.
Investigators say Pierre Jujuan Ricardo Sanders, who was on parole for murder, was dealing heroin in the Georgetown area. Over the course of the investigation, agents obtained five heroin distribution- related warrants for Sanders and arrested him at a traffic stop Tuesday.
The press release from the DEU says Sanders had changed his appearance, broken contact with his parole officer and tried to give agents a false name. During the traffic stop, agents determined Sanders had passed a bag with a significant amount of heroin and crack cocaine to the female passenger. Agents noticed the bulge in Turkeesha Minnifield’s pants, searched her and arrested her as well.
The release says Minnifield and Sanders were both already wanted by the Georgetown Police Department at the time of their arrest.
Sanders was charged with trafficking heroin, possession with the intent to distribute crack, obstructing law enforcement, three counts of distribution of heroin, two counts of distribution of heroin within proximity of a school or park, and an arrest warrant for a traffic offense.
Minnifield was charged with trafficking heroin, possession with the intent to distribute crack and an arrest warrant for forgery.
The 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit is made up of agencies including Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, Georgetown police, the 15th Judicial Circuit Solicitors Office, Horry County Sheriff’s Office, Myrtle Beach police, North Myrtle Beach DPS, Conway police, Coastal Carolina University DPS, Surfside Beach police, Horry County police, and Aynor police.
