JOHNSONVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Thursday night, Sheriff Kenney Boone confirmed two people were caught and arrested after the Florence County Sheriff’s Office worked alongside the SC Highway Patrol to find two men who ran from troopers just outside of Johnsonville.

Boone says the men were found in the same area near Old River Road.

Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol says troopers received a BOLO alert about a suspicious car around 6:15 a.m. Thursday along Old Marion Highway in Florence County. Trooper spotted the vehicle shortly after the alert, and attempted to pull the driver over on Papermill Road, Cpl. Collins adds.

The driver refused to stop for the trooper, and turned on to Old River Road, where the driver and another person in the car, jumped out and ran into the woods.

According to Major Mike Nunn with the sheriff’s office, deputies were searching the wooded areas off of SC-51 between Johnsonville and Kingsburg.
