HARTSVILLE, S.C.(WBTW) – Authorities are investigating the death of a two-year-old child in Darlington County.
Deputies were dispatched to an area hospital on Wednesday evening due to a child being treated for severe injuries. The child later passed away, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators with the Special Victims Unit have arrested Jodi Breanna Holden, 21, of Hartsville, and Randall Scott Watson, Jr., 24, of Cheraw.
Holden is being charged with neglect of a child and Watson is being charged with Cruelty to children. A bond hearing has been set for 4 p.m. on Friday.
Investigators will seek charges this morning of unlawful conduct towards a child for Holden and Watson. Holden is the mother of the child.
According to Investigators, additional charges are expected pending the outcome of the investigation.
Both are being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
