MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – The owner of a $1 million Powerball® ticket sold in Myrtle Beach has 157 more days to claim their winnings. The prize remains unclaimed since the drawing earlier this month.
The ticket, sold for the June 6 lottery drawing, was sold at the Scotchman gas station at 4101 Postal Way in Myrtle Beach.
Store Manager Napifa Ashley says curiosity is running high at the store off Hwy. 501 in Carolina Forest. Customers keep asking if she has seen or heard from the winner.
“They probably don’t have a clue they have the ticket,” guesses Ashley.
So if you purchased a Powerball® ticket from the Scotchman for the drawing on Saturday, June 6, check your tickets. The winning ticket matched the five white ball numbers drawn but missed the red Powerball® number. The winning numbers were 8, 13, 18, 27, and 43, and the Powerball® number was 15.
The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the $1 million prize.
The Lottery cautions the $1 million winner as well as other lottery players.
“Sign the back of your ticket, keep it in a safe location, and for your safety, be careful who you tell of your win,” warn lottery officials.
The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 5,153,633.
