17-year-old arrested for attempted murder after Walmart shooting in Conway

CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Police arrested a man Thursday in connection to a shooting that happened at Walmart Aug. 17.

Booking reports show that Matthew Davis Zinner, 17, was taken in to custody Thursday morning and charged with attempted murder.

The incident report says police arrived to the Walmart at Myrtle Ridge Drive in regard to shots fired on Aug. 17, at 11:50 p.m

When police arrived, they talked to the store manager who said that employees heard someone shooting in the parking lot.

Police found a pair of shoes and a hat in the parking lot, but were unable to locate shell casings. Ten minutes later, police were advised that a person suffering from a gunshot wound had arrived at the hospital.

Arrest warrants say that Zinner reportedly met the victim at the Walmart parking lot to sell him marijuana. When the victim paid Zinner in two counterfeit $100 bills, the suspect got out of his car and fired two shots at the victim.
