A 12-year-old boy was issued a juvenile summons after bringing a BB gun to a Conway school and shooting another student, a police report says.
Police responded to the Academy of Hope, located at 3521 Juniper Bay Road in the Conway area, around 11 a.m. on Monday in reference to an assault, according to a police report from the Horry County Police Department. A person told police the 12-year-old brought a BB gun to school, and that he took the BB gun out of his bag and pointed it at several students. This person also told police the juvenile made shooting sounds as he pointed the BB gun at students and then shot a 13-year-old once in the right side of his ribs.
This person told police the victim didn’t have any injuries, the report also says. A juvenile summons was completed and explained to the 12-year-old. The BB gun was collected for evidence and the juvenile summons and report were given to the juvenile solicitors office.
