CHARLESTON, S.C. — Charleston Police arrested two male juveniles early Saturday, July 23, 2016, while they were burglarizing a residence on Wentworth Street.
Further investigation showed these juveniles also burglarized a Beaufain Street residence on Friday, July 22, 2016.
There is also surveillance video from July 20th of the juveniles riding a stolen three wheeler and abandoning it on Amherst Street.
Both juveniles are charged with burglary 1st degree, burglary 2nd degree, petit larceny and larceny of a motor vehicle. They were being held in Juvenile Detention.
On July 22 about 4:00 a.m., officers responded to 144 ½ Wentworth Street in reference to a burglary in progress. Officer Andrew Jagger arrived on scene, approached the front door and saw the door being opened. He announced his presence and heard someone run toward the back of the house.
Officer Jagger ran to the back of the house and yelled to the other officers that someone was exiting through the back door. Officer Jagger saw a boy running from the house and was able to detain him. Police also detained a second suspect.
