Officers from the Horry County Sheriff’s Office, Conway Police Department, the Horry County Police Department, and the 15th Judicial Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit carried out a drug raid on Thursday. 

A press release from the Horry County Sheriff’s Office says the drug raid happened in the area of Highway 378 and Mill Pond Road in Conway as the result of complaints of criminal activity in the area. 

According to the release, 101 Oxycodone pills, 3/4 pound of marijuana, and $13,580 in cash were seized by officers. The estimated street value for the drugs seized is around $7,500. 

During the raid, officers made arrests for unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a firearm by persons prohibited, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release also says. One person arrested is identified as 32-year-old James Matthew Terrell Sanders of Winston Salem, North Carolina. Sanders is charged with reckless driving, possession of a schedule two substance, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Sanders was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Thursday night, according to detention center booking records. No bond has been set. 

Officers also issued 11 citations and 28 warnings during the raid. 

Other arrest warrants are pending.
