One person was taken to the hospital and another was arrested after a shooting on Monday in Lake City. 

Officers responded to Lake City Hospital around 10:38 p.m. on Monday for a gunshot victim, according to Officer Amy Pringle, with the Lake City Police Department. Upon arriving, officers found a 28-year-old man shot twice in stable condition. 

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Lake City Security Inn, located at 319 Sumter Street, Officer Pringle said. The suspect is identified as LaQuincy Monyaa Singletary, 25. 

Singletary turned himself in around 10 p.m. on Tuesday and was arrested by Lake City police and U.S. Marshals. He is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

An investigation is ongoing.
