1 still wanted for Darlington County burglary, kidnapping

DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Deputies say one man is behind bars while investigators continue to search for a second suspect wanted for a February burglary and kidnapping in the Lamar area.

The two men are accused of entering the victim’s home, taking money and other items and assaulting the victim. Lt. Robby Kilgo with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office says the suspects also forced the victim into the victim’s truck and drove to a bank where the men tried to force the victim to take money from a bank account. Luckily, the victim was able to escape.

A press release from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office notes investigators with the special victims unit arrested Barry Anthony Jones, 21, of Timmonsville for first degree burglary and kidnapping. Jones’ bond was denied, according to Lt. Kilgo

Devante Lamar Clark, 26, of Bishopville has not yet been located by law enforcement. Anyone with information on the crime or where Clark might be is asked to call investigators at 843-398-4501.
