FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Beginning on Monday, Florence and Darlington deputies kicked off the 11th Annual Operation Strike Force along I-95 and I-20.

According to Florence County Sheriff spokesman Major Mike Nunn, approximately 150 officers from 24 states, local and federal agencies participated in the operation which ended Friday.

Over the course of the week there were 1542 traffic violations noted. In addition, 223 vehicles were searched, 70 criminal cases including 10 felony arrests were made.

Seven illegal weapons were also seized.

The operation netted over 7.5 pounds of high grade marijuana with an estimated street value of over $168,000, 2.3 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $130,000,  and 2.7 pounds of heroine with a street value of $500,000, said Nunn

Three fugitives were apprehended and $276, 261 in U.S. currency was seized.

 Nunn said the value of narcotics and currency comes to a total $1.124 million dollars from the operation this week.
