SELLERS, SC AREA (WBTW) – One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle in Marion County.
The crash happened at 9:07 a.m. Wednesday on SC Highway 38 at Christmas Farm Road, near U.S. Highway 501, according to Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson. The crash involved a Jeep SUV and a motorcycle.
The driver of a Jeep SUV has been charged with failure to yield the right away, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins with the SC Highway Patrol.
Trooper Collins said the driver of the Harley motorcycle was heading south on Hwy 38 when the Jeep crossed Hwy 38 from Christmas Farm Road and failed to yield.
Richardson identified the driver of the motorcycle as Robert Stephen Cranford, he was 60 from Randleman, North Carolina.
The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet, Collins said. The driver of the Jeep SUV was not injured.
