FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Detectives have identified the victim who was fatally wounded during a shooting at the Wendy’s Restaurant. The victim has been identified as Brandon L. Ratliff, 31 of Norfolk, VA.
Fayetteville Police said in a statement that the incident happened at about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday at the Wendy’s at 2903 Raeford Road.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that a group … arranged to meet each other in the parking lot of Wendy’s,” police said.
“At some point after the subjects met each other in the parking lot, one of the subjects pulled out a handgun and gunshots were then fired,” police added.
A second man was shot in the arm and a third man was shot in the hand, according to police.
The injured men were both transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in fair condition.
“Detectives with the FPD’s homicide unit are actively investigating the homicide and shooting,” police said. “The Fayetteville Police Department emphasizes that this was not a random incident.”
The two victims that received non-life threatening injuries remain at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in good condition. The names of the victims in the hospital are being withheld until additional information can be obtained.
