DILLON, SC (WBTW) – Investigators say one person was arrested by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Saturday night in connection with a murder that happened in Dillon County.
Captain Cliff Arnette with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Donovan Samir Lewis of Rowland is currently being held in North Carolina. The sheriff’s office is waiting for Lewis to appear in court to determine when he will be returned to Dillon County, Arnette says.
Deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office say they found a body at a home on Oaky Point Road on Saturday.
On Monday, Coroner Donnie Grimsley announced that 52-year-old Eva Lewis of Latta died as a result of head injuries.
Officials say another victim was found as well who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Investigators have not released any information about the circumstances surrounding the incident, but the case is being investigated as a homicide.
The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dillon County Coroner’s Office, Latta Police Department and Sled.
