I-95 northbound closing in Lumberton until Monday morning

LUMBERTON, N.C. (WNCN) — Interstate 95 northbound will be completely closed starting at 5 p.m. Sunday for maintenance, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said.

Drivers will be detoured off I-95 at exit 17, which is Canton Road in Lumberton, officials said.

Crews will be working on “bridge maintenance” in the area of mile marker 18 during the highway closure.

The interstate is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday.

The detour will force all northbound traffic to take exit 17 onto N.C. 72 east to N.C. 211 North (Roberts Avenue) to I-95 at exit 20.
