CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Coastal Carolina University released a statement Friday afternoon, following a social media post that included ‘extremely racist’ words, according to the school.
The school says it is aware of an ‘offensive video’ posted by a student. The statement goes on to say that the school condemns the video as it does not align with CCU’s commitment to promote a culture of inclusiveness and equity.
Later Friday, the university posted a longer statement to its website, in which it says the social media post showed “disturbing language and conduct, including words that are extremely racist”.
The statement went on to say that campus leadership was taking appropriate action in response to the video, but no specifics were provided. Here is the full statement below:
