BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at the Marlboro County Detention Center.
The inmate has been identified as Jason Lee Mehler, 43, of Wallace, SC.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was notified of an inmate death at about 10:43 p.m. on Sunday.
The death is a suicide, according to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.
SLED is continuing the investigation.
