FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Judge DeAndrea Benjamin has issued an order to allow the removal of suspended Sheriff Kenney Boone’s GPS monitoring ankle bracelet.
The judge granted Boone’s motion to rescind his house arrest at a hearing on May 7.
Boone was placed under house arrest and given a $50,000 bond on April 24 after he was indicted on charges of embezzlement and misconduct.
The indictments against Boone say he used county funds and money from a federal narcotics account on items such as groceries, window tinting, bicycle and baseball equipment, cooking appliances and clothing. The documents also detail places Boone allegedly shopped, including Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop and Rapid Weight Loss.
