Dillon mayor-elect charged with 11 counts sexual exploitation of a minor, News13 obtains warrants

DILLON, SC (WBTW) – Dillon’s mayor-elect, Corey Jackson, has been charged with 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to Thom Berry, with SLED.

Jackson turned himself in at the Dillon County Detention Center on Wednesday, according to the center. Jackson was given a $50,000 bond. He posted bond and has been released. 

News13 obtained warrants for Jackson on Wednesday.

Warrants allege the following:

In April, News13 reported that Jackson was part of an investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Berry would not elaborate on the investigation saying “it would be inappropriate because the investigation is still ongoing.” 

Jackson won the April runoff election for Dillon mayor, taking over for current Mayor Todd Davis who has held the post for over 15 years.
